C. Edward Bucher

C. Edward Bucher, 83, Mentone, died Monday at the Life Care Center, Rochester.

Born Aug. 1, 1914, in Wabash County, he was the son of Harmon O. and Ethel F. (Landis) Bucher. He married Louise (Leininger) Bucher on March 21, 1937, and she died on April 27, 1983. He married Mary E. (Tucker) Bucher on Jan. 5, 1985, and she survives.

Mr. Bucher retired from the Kosciusko County Highway Department in 1979. He had been a farmer and worked at the Akron Farm Store for 30 years.

He belonged to Beaver Dam United Methodist Church, Akron.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Bucher, Fort Wayne, Phillip Bucher, Indianapolis, and Paul Bucher, Pendleton; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mike (JoAnn) Williams, Atwood; a stepson, Charles M. Tucker, Mentone; two sisters, Mrs. Worby (Mildred) Clinker and Mrs. Richard (Donna) French, Silver Lake; a brother, Gerald Bucher, Churubusco; seven grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 18 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one daughter.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Beaver Dam United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery.
