Dorothy, 91, of Alma, MI. passed away peacefully Monday, June 1, 2015 at Masonic Pathways in Alma. She was the daughter of Roy Lee and Anna Mae (VanHorn) Perry.
She was a 1942 graduate of Alma High School and on January 22, 1944 she married Ira “Ike” Austin in Alma.
Dorothy lived in Alma her whole life and enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, camping, playing cards, baking with her grand children, watching the Detroit Tigers, snowmobiling and visiting friends.
She was proudly dedicated to being a loving and supportive homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Ira; three children Michael (Celine) Austin of Shepherd, Deborah Miller of Alma and Mark (Lisa) Austin of Shepherd; brothers Lyle (Naomi) Perry and Ron (Judy) Perry; sisters Vivian (Lyle) Thrush and Violet (Cyril) Hyde; sister-in-law Shirley (Jack) Austin; cousin Jean (Bob) Bell and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a devoted grandmother to Corey (Caryn) Miller, Amy Austin, Angela (Kevin) Tenney, Emily (Kristopher) Brown, Michael Austin, Jennifer Austin, Corey Austin, Adam Austin and Dylan Austin. She was an adorning great-grandmother to Tristan and Sophia Miller, Noah Cote, Abigail and Allison Tenney and Kaden and Konnor Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Lee (Lucille) Perry and a sister Doris (Gene) Todd.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Riverside Cemetery, Alma.
