Violet May (Perry)Hyde, age 95; of Alma; passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Masonic Pathways. She was born May 23, 1921 in Alma, the daughter of Roy and Anna Perry.

She was a 1940 graduate of Alma High School and married Cyril Hyde on November 3, 1940. Violet was a member of Lincoln Road United Methodist Church and the Hospital Auxiliary. She drove school bus for 13 years, starting her career in Elwell and later driving for Shepherd.

Violet is survived by her children, Timothy Hyde (Sally) of Elwell, Larry Hyde of Elwell, Gail Hyde of Ithaca, Rick (Loretta) Hyde of Vestaburg, Wendy (Scott) Cary of Alma, Kevin Hyde of Alma, and Pam Gilbert of Alma, 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-granddaughters, and her siblings Lyle (Naomi) Perry, Ron (Judy) Perry, and Vivian (Lyle) Thrush.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; two sisters; husband, Cyril; son, Ken; and grandson, Troy.

The family would like to thank the staff at Masonic Pathways for their loving care of Violet, especially the staff of One North and Two South. They are angels on Earth.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Masonic Pathways, Doig Chapel. Interment will be held in Chapel Gardens Cemetery.
