Samuel James Lathrop, 67, of 2005 Bethje, died in a Houston hospital at 3 p.m. Wednesday. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ethel Viola Lathrop of Weatherford; five sons. H.A. Lathrop, A.W. Lathrop and O.L. Lathrop of Houston, P.A. Lathrop of Dallas and J.E. Lathrop of California; four daughters, Mrs. Sarah Moody of Houston, Mrs. Alma Martin and Mrs. Juanita Smith of Weatherford, and Mrs. Mary Johnston of Dallas; a brother. J.D. Lathrop of Houston and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Hyde Park funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hyde Park funeral home. Rev. A. L. Samford officiating. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Garden of Memories. Pallbearers will be George Fredricks, L.E. Patrick, J.B. Batton, W.M. Grant Sr., B.F. McClellan, Mr Gray and Johnny Mott.
