In 1884 the deceased moved with her parents from Ohio to Red Oak, Montgomery County, Iowa. There she united with the church and confessed Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord. In 1888 she came with her people from Iowa to Carroll, and here she lived the rest of her life.
On February 25, 1891, she was married to Mr. Thomas J. Thomas. To this union were born seven children; two daughters and five sons. All of whom are living and were present with their father at the mother's funeral. By name and order of birth, they are Anna Mae, Alfred, Della, Daniel, Dave, Wayne, and Lloyd.
Mrs. Thomas was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jenkin Davis, two people well known and well liked in this community. She was the sister of Dan, Steve, John, and Jennie. These brothers and one sister were all present at her funeral. Dave Davis, a brother, had preceded her in death, but his daughter, Leona, was present at her aunt's funeral.
To mourn her departure, Mrs. Thomas leaves a husband, seven children, two sons-in-law, three daughters-in-law, seven grand children, three brothers, one sister and many other relatives and a large number of friends.
The funeral service was held at the Bethany Presbyterian Church west of Carroll. Interment was made in Bethany Presbyterian Cemetery just north of the church.
