R. Glen Alberson, 92, formerly of Muncie, passed away Saturday morning at the Hope Hopice in Lehigh Acres, Florida. He was born in Muncie, the son of Pearl (Landers) Alberson and Ray B. Alberson. Glen worked at Warner Gear for 34 years, from 1944 until retiring in 1977.

His memberships include DeSoto United Methodist Church; Delaware Lodge #46, F&AM, where he was Past Master in 1979;O.E.S. Chapter #104 where he was Worthy Patron 1984-85; Scottish Rite Valley, Indianapolis; York Rite, Chapter, Council and Commandery; Caleb's Kin and the Moose Lodge #33. Glen enjoyed church, bowling, reading and traveling. He had traveled to all 50 states. Mr. Alberson was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carrol Alberson, December 9, 1991; four brothers, Donford Alberson, Edward Alberson, m. Eugene Alberson, and William Alberson; and four sisters, Thaddora Smith, Delores Alberson, mary Deck, and Vivian Lofton.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the DeSoto United Methodist Church with Pastor Daryl Hamlyn officiating. Burial will follow in Black Cemetery, Albany. Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with a Masonic service conducted by Delaware Lodge #46 F.& A.M. at 7 p.m., or after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
