MARY BRYANT
December 26, 1924 ~ May 25, 1935
Mary, 9 year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert W. Bryant of Harris, died Saturday night at the Sanitarium of Paris after a two week illness with meningitis.
Private funeral services were held at the Pollard Cemetery Sunday at 3 p.m., conducted by Rev. J. L. Cooke.
Funeral arrangements were in charge of Chappel Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Annis Bryant, and a sister, Lucel Bryant.
She is survived by her father, Bert W. Bryant; her stepmother (who was like a mother to her), Hattie Lowrance Bryant; two sisters and two brothers, Jewel, Drusilla, Joe and Walter, and her step-grandmother, Mrs. Savanah Bryant, all of Harris.
Mary's mother, Bessie, passed away Jan. 13, 1929. Her step-mother, Hattie Lowrance Bryant, "raised her as one of her own children" (this information from Bert Bryant Jr).
