Maggie E. Schramling, daughter of John and Katherine McCabe,was born in Jackson Co., Iowa on December 22, 1873 and departed this life at the Hillside Hospital, San Diego, California, March 12, 1951, following an illness of three months, being 77 years, 2 months and 18 days of age.

On May 19, 1893, in Washington County, Kansas she was married to Peter H. Schramling. In 1899 they came to Oklahoma homesteading 12 miles southeast of Woodward where they lived until 1927 when they moved into town. On October 13, 1939 Mr. Schramling preceded her in death. Since 1944 she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Veva Maxted, San Diego, Cal. She was a member of the Woodward Baptist Church.

Besides her daughter Mrs. G. J. Maxted, San Diego, Cal., she is survived by two step-children, W. H. Schramling, Sharon and Mrs. George Steadman, Woodward. She is also survived by four sisters; Mrs. Mary Schramling, Sharon; Mrs. Anna Croxell, Galva, Iowa; Mrs. Sadie Mellett, Sumpter, S.C. and Mrs. Katherine Cribb, Tacoma, Washington. Two brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 18, 1951 in the Chapel of the Stecher Mortuary, with the Reverend L. O. McCracken, pastor of the Baptist church Woodward, officiating. Burial was in Elmwood cemetery.
