Mrs. Mary E. Schramling, 86, long-time Woodward county resident died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eva Smith, Portsmouth, Va., early Wednesday following a lengthy illness.

Miss Mary Ellen McCabe was born March 27, 1871 at Battle Creek, Iowa, and on Jan. 7, 1891 at Ida Grove, Iowa she was married to William M. Schramling. He preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 1934. Soon after their marriage they moved to Washington, Kans., where they lived for nine years. In 1900, they moved to Oklahoma homesteading on the present home 12 miles southeast of Woodward. She was a member of the Methodist church of Sharon.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Edith Gaston, Sharon; and Mrs. Smith, Portsmouth; and also Mrs. Anna Steadman, Woodward, a niece whom she raised as a daughter. One sister, Mrs. Anna Croxell, Cherokee, Iowa; three grandsons and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by one grandson, two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Sharon Methodist church. The Rev. Nelson Bradshaw Waynoka and the Rev. Alexander, pastor of the Sharon church, will officiate and burial, under the direction of Stecher Mortuary, will be in the Sharon cemetery.
