Mrs. Mellett was the widow of Silas Mellett. She was born March 13, 1879, at Ida Grove, Iowa, a daughter of the late John McCabe and Katherine Brown McCabe.
Surviving besides her daughter Mrs. Foxworth are three granddaughters, Mrs. Joe Bailey and Misses Sarah and Georgianna Foxworth; one grandson Francis Foxworth, all of Sumter; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Schramling of Sheron, Okla., and Mrs. Lew Croxwell of Galva, Iowa, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the chapel of the Shelley-Brunson Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Francis T. Cunningham. Interment will be in the family square in Sumter cemetery.
