Ebba Rulien was born August 2, 1893, in New Richmond, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Johnson) Rulien. Ebba married Arnold Hatch on March 5, 1913, in Eau Claire. Her six children were born while living in Muscatine, Iowa, and Chicago, Illinois. The family lived in Chicago for 45 years before returning to Eau Claire in 1956 where they lived for the remainder of their lives.
Ebba passed away on January 11, 1981, at Eau Claire Manor nursing home where she had been residing for four years prior to her death.
Ebba was a charter member of Salem Baptist Church, and she was a kind and generous person with a wonderful sense of humor. She loved her family and had many friends.
