Jane lockart, daughter of William Lockart of Drumachee, County Armagh, was born in Drumachee Townland, Mullaghbrack Parish, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. Her father and brothers, George & William, were cottage flax farmers. Jane married John Coburn County Armagh, IRE Dec. 10, 1840. Born to Jane & John in Ireland were daughter Jane and sons James & William George.

Jane, with husband John and 3 small children, sailed to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on the ship "Tuscarora" arriving April 17, 1851. For thirty-three years Jane and her little family grew in the Philadelphia City and then county area. Born in Philadelphia City were John Jr., Joseph, and Wallace. Robert and Samuel were born after they moved out into the county near Cobb Creek.

In 1883 they sold their home to the railroad and moved to Saline County, Kansas near their son William George in Walnut Township.

Jane died in 1886 and is buried in the St. Paul's Cemetery. Her grave is marked with a simple "Mother" stone.
