Charlie A. Eagerton, farmer of the Suttons community, died Sunday afternoon in the Kelly Memorial Hospital here after an extended illness. He was 71 years old.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Suttons Methodist Church, of which he was a member 40 years, with the pastor, the Rev. J. J. Patrick, officiating. Burial, directed by Burgess, of Kingstree, will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Eagerton was a son of the late Henry E. Eagerton and Mrs. Mary Taylor Eagerton, of Marion County.

Surviving are the widow, formerly Miss Willie Etta Cooper; three daughters, Mrs. Lucile E. Cumbee of Suttons, Mrs. Hazel E. Green of Suttons and Charleston, and Mrs. Pearl E. Shaw of Hampton; six grandchildren; three brothers, D. H. Eagerton, of Arcadia, Fla., J. F. Eagerton of Lane, and J. R. Eagerton of Franklin, Va., and a sister, Mr. Zella Cooper of Trio.
