Hazel McCants of Orangeburg, SC, widow of the late Carson Y. McCants, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 20015, after an extended illness.

The family held a graveside service on Sunday, May 24, 2015, at 2 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery, Orangeburg, SC. The Rev. Ryan Tucker officiated. The family received friends at 1798 John Wesley Drive, Orangeburg, SC and after the service.

She was the daughter of the late Charles and Willie Etta Eagerton. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and an elementary teacher for over 30 years in Williamsburg and Orangeburg School Districts.

She is survived by a daughter: June (John) Borrini of Orangeburg, SC; two granddaughters: Joni (Will) Shields of Savannah, GA and Gina (Darryl) Kennerly of Orangeburg, SC; two great-granddaughters: Megan and Kristi Kennerly of Columbia, SC; niece: Ann (Jimmy) McCants of Georgetown, SC and nephew: Charles Shaw of Spartanburg, SC.

Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church, 1240 Russell Street, Orangeburg, SC 29115 or a charity of one's choice.
