Services for Fred H. Campbell, 83, of 1306 North Fourteenth, who died Wednesday morning at Boise Hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Relyea Mortuary. Interment will be at Morris Hill Cemetery.

He was born May 16, 1887, in Weston,Idaho, the son of Adam Rightenbark and Elizabeth Beebe Campbell. He grew up in Cache Valley, and when a young man went on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the South.

He married Sarah Violet Morrison on November 18, 1908 in the Logan Temple in Utah. He had held many offices in the church including bishop and high priest.

He and his brother George, installed the first water and sewer system at Lava Hot Springs. In 1923, he and his family moved to Treasure Valley where he was a section foreman for Union Pacific until his retirement. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. William (Clara) Bower, Chesterfield, and Mrs. Walter (Chleo) Martin, Las Vegas: two sons, Duard F. Campbell, Nampa and Adam J. Campbell, Ogden, Utah; four daughters, Theoda Jensen, Oakand, CA, Mrs. Rowland (Vella) Witters, Mrs. Warren (Leone) Wallace and Mrs. James (Vonda) Cowan, all of Boise; 24 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Mrs. Campbell died Dec. 6, 1969. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Kerry Campbell, Rex Campbell, Steven Witters, Gene Wallace, Albert Hyde and Rosel Hyde.

Fred liked to read and make things. Also, he loved to write poems in his later years. I remember when he made my mother, Theoda, a lamp with a wood base that had pennies in the wood that spelled her name, Theoda.

Fredrick Campbell was the ninth child born to Adam Rightenbark Campbell and Elizabeth Beebe Campbell. There were 14 children in all.
