Theoda Violet Campbell Jensen and James Stevens Jensen divorced in 1955. Theoda never remarried. She raised three daughters named Julie Sandra Jensen (Phillips), Janna Sue Jensen (Smith) and Jacqulyn Stacy Jensen (Walden).
Theoda's maiden name is Campbell. She and James came to Oakland, California in 1945 from Pocatello, Idaho. They were both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but were not active until their later years. My dad became active again around 1970 after marrying his third wife and my mother became active again after the divorce and went to the Oakland Temple to receive her endowments on June 3, 1967. My mother was the second wife.
Theoda was the oldest of six children born to Fredrick Henry Campbell and Sarah Violet Morrison Campbell. All of the children were born and raised in Idaho. There is Theoda, Duard, Adam, Vella, Leone and Vonda.
Theoda was a beautician and was an instructor in beauty school. She had to quit because of allergies to the solutions that were used to process the hair. She then married and became a mother of three daughters and stayed home to raise them until she had to go to work after the divorce in 1955. She then later started doing a childcare business which she did for many years and was very giving to the mothers and children and worked very hard. She lived in Oakland, CA from 1945 to 1982 and then lived in Pleasanton near her daughter.
She was always there for her children to help in anyway and never much thought of herself.
She had nine grandchildren: Ronda, Rami, Robin, Raquel, Gary, Leslie, Adam, Natalie and Nathan and one great granddaughter, Jennifer. Robin, she was very close too. She died of PSP - Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) is a rare brain disorder that causes serious and progressive problems with control of gait and balance, along with complex eye movement and thinking problems. It causes many problems as your body turns to stone. Approximately 6 people per 100,000 population have PSP. She eventually died of pneumonia.
She and my mother in law, Reathel V. Collins Phillips, were next door neighbors and good friends. Reathel joined the LDS Church and they went to church, shopped, ate together and watched out for each other. This was after they had raised their children and both lived alone. My mother was the only one that drove a car, Reathel never drove a car, so they would jump in my mom's 1964 Firebird with a 350 engine and come to Pleasanton to visit us.
They were both good women.

A native of Idaho, she lived in Oakland, CA, for 40 years before moving to Pleasanton two and a half years ago. She worked in child care for 20 years while in Oakland.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6101 Valley Avenue, Pleasanton, with burial to follow at the Roselawn Cemetery in Livermore, CA. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Graham-Hitch Mortuary, 675 Saint John Street in Pleasanton.
