Guyton Gilmer Adams
BERLIN — Guyton Gilmer Adams, 76, of Berlin, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, at Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. Stuart Bundy officiating and the Rev. Jimmy Hiers assisting.

Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery with Hubert Merritt, Reggie Merritt, Jacky Merritt, William Merritt, Benji Butterfield and Donnie May serving as pallbearers.

Born May 12, 1934, in Kibbee, Ga., he was the son of the late Ruben David Adams and Bessie Ruth Hamilton Adams.

He was retired from the Department of Transportation as an Engineer 2 and was of the Freewill Baptist faith.

He was also retired from the United States Navy.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Ruben Edward "Sonny" Adams, Royce Adams and E.S. Adams; and sister, Cora Gibbs.

Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 23, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the funeral home.

Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
