Mrs. Cora Adams Gibbs, 69, of Moultrie, passed away Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born Oct. 14, 1928, in Kibbee to the late Reuben David Adams and Bessie Ruth Hamilton Adams.
She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and was chief appraiser of Colquitt County Tax Assessors. Mrs. Gibbs was also a member fo the Georgia Tax Assessors Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Dewey Gibbs. Survivors are one son, John Stephen Gibbs; three daughters, Jane Gregory, Caroline Hurd of Moultrie and Ginger Beverly of Valdosta. Four brothers, Robert Adams of Malone Fla., Sonny Adams of Charleston S.C., Guyton Adams of Berlin Ga., and Elbert Adams of Marianna, Fla.
Funeral Services were held at 2 P.M., Sunday, Nov. 16 at Hopewell Baptist Church with the Rev. Julian Griner, officiating. The Rev. Frank Green assisted. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery.
Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
