Lester R. Newswanger, 63, of 410 Stracks Dam Road, Myerstown, died Thursday at his daughter's home in Lebanon. The former Schoeneck resident had been under a physician's care.
He was the husband of Mildred Gehman Newswanger. Newswanger moved to Myerstown 18 years ago. He had also lived in Pine Grove.
Newswanger had been an employee of Martin Appliance in Myerstown for the past two years. He was a member of Rehrersburg Mennonite Church, Rehrersburg.
Born in Martindale, Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Amos B. and Lydia Reinhart Newswanger.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons: L. Glenn and Mark G., both of Myerstown, and J. Richard, Pine grove; four daughters: Lucille G., wife of Lamar W. Leinbach, and Louise G., wife of Nevin E. Martin, both of Myerstown; Gloria G., wife of Melvin W. Herr, Richland; and Debra G., wife of Glenn L. Musser, Lebanon; 28 grandchildren; three brothers: Paul, Harrisburg; Amos Jr., Pine Grove; and Robert, Ephrata; and three sisters: Elsie, wife of Raymond Martin, Lititz; Edith, wife of Leonard Seibel, Hamburg; and Anna, wife of Ira Ginder, Cocalico.

Entered into rest in Lebanon on February 28, 1991, LESTER R. NEWSWANGER, husband of Mildred Gehman Newswenger of 410 Stracks Dam Road, Myerstown, in his 64th year. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from The Rehrersburg Mennonite Church, Rehrersburg, PA on Monday at 10 a.m. Interment in adjoining cemetery.
