HURT AS AS CAR SKIDS
Gust Kuehn, of Walkerton,
Meets Death Near LaPorte.
LAPORTE, Ind., Dec. 24.--Gust Kuehn, of Walkerton, Ind., was killed and Miss Bonnie Hawkins of North Judson was seriously injured Friday evening when the automobile in which they were riding skidded into a telephone pole just outside of LaPorte. The injured couple was not found until some time after the accident.
Kuehn was still alive when discovered lying by the roadside, but died on the way to the hospital. His nose was found to be broken and his leg crushed. Internal injuries and exposure are believed to have hastened his death. Miss Hawkins suffered serious bruises.
Kuehn was driving and the slippery condition of the road is supposed to have been responsible for the car skidding.
