MRS. MATHILDA SMITH
Mrs. Mathilda E. Smith, 73, of 703 George Ave. died at 8:20 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Hospital, Mishawaka after an illness of three weeks. She was born on September 19, 1894 in Hanna, Ind. and came to South Bend in 1946 from Plymouth. Her husband, Ralph W. , died on January 16, 1961. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Klingerman, Mrs. Barbara Mynsberge, both of Mishawaka and Mrs. Marciel Penn of South Bend; two sons, Gordon of Mishawaka and Cecil of South Bend; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandchild, and a sister Mrs. Pauline Werner of Wanatah. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Forest G Hay and Son Funeral Home where services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday. Rev. Raymond Harris, pastor of the First Christian Church, Mishawaka, will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. The family requests artificial flowers only or donations to the First Christian Church.
