The funeral of Mrs. Anna McGinley, who died in Dillon Jan 3, was held in Hamilton with the Rev Lawrence Nelson officiating. Interment was made in the Hamilton Riverview Cemetery beside her late husband, Daniel "Des" McGinley who passed away in Dillon April 5, 1949.
Mrs. Anna Seybold and her son, Frank of Dillon, attended the funeral.
Mrs. McGinley was about 80 years of age. Her maiden name was Anna Wood and she was a native of Utah. She went to Hamilton in 1908 and was married to Daniel McGinley in Missoula, June 24, 1909. They ranched in Bitter Root. After disposing of the ranch, they lived in Darby before moving to Dillion in 1932. Following her husband's death, Mrs. McGinley continued living in Dillon until her death.
She is survived by four sisters and two brothers, who are Mrs. Frank R (Nell) Saunders, Los Angeles; Ralph (Kip) Wood, Nucla,Colo; Mrs. Tracey (Jessie) McGuinn, Spernard, Alaska; Mrs Hilda Sharp, Cortez, Color; Joe Wood, Price, Utah.
Mr. and Mrs Saunders were with Mrs. McGinley when she passed away.
Mrs. McGinley will be remembered by many both in the Bitter Root and in Beaverhead county, who were befriended by the deceased matron during her long lifetime. She helped to raise her younger sisters and brothers before coming to Montana. She served as a practical nurse, housekeeper and friend when trouble and illness afflicted her neighbors.
