Funeral services for Claude Wood, 71, former Nucla resident was held at 2 pm Wednesday in the Congregational Church at Nucla, with the George Hibbert officiating. Interment will be in Nucla Cemetery, directed by Ormsbee Mortuary of Montrose.
Born April 10, 1885, at Panguitch, Utah, Mr. Wood died Friday at the home of a son, George Wood, at Steamboat Springs. A resident of Colorado 63 years, he was a retired rancher.
Surviving him are three daughters, Mrs. Duaine Walker of Yuma, Ariz., Mrs. Agnes Hamilton of Naturita and Miss Faye Wood of Montrose; two sons, George Wood of Steamboat Springs, and Burrell Wood of La Sal, Utah; two brother, Kip Wood of Pinon and Jode Wood of Grand Junction; six sisters, Mrs. Anna McGinnelly of Butte, Mont., Mrs Noma Bennett of Nucla, Mrs. Eleanor Spradlin of Paradox, Mrs. Hilda Spars of Cortez, Mrs. Nellie Saunders of Los Angelos, Calif., and Mrs. Jessie Guin of Montana; and five grandchildren.
