Guri K. Loken was the first born child of Knud Ellingson and Anne Olsdatter [Arnegard] Loken. Guri married Ole Larson Rudningen [U.S. spelling- Ronningen] on 12 April 1864 in Aal, Hallingdal, Norway.
------
Mrs. Guri K. Loken Ronningen, the oldest settler of Wanamingo township, died at the home of her son, Knute Ronningen, March 13, 1921. She had been in failing health for the last six years, but her final illness was of only seven weeks' duration. Death was due to valvular heart trouble.

Mrs. Ronningen was born at Hallingdal, Norway, March 25, 1835. In 1864 she was married to Ole L. Ronningen, and two years later they immigrated to America, settling on a farm in Minneola, Goodhue county, MN. After a residence of twelve years there, they purchased a farm in Wanamingo township, which place has since been the family home.

She is survived by five children, as follows: Mrs. John E.[Borghild] Swenson of Zumbrota, Mrs. Nels [Anna] Hostager of Wanamingo, Lars [Regina]Ronningen of Zumbrota, Knute [Marie]Ronningen of Roscoe and Knute Ronningen of Wanamingo. Her husband and two children preceded her in death.

Mrs. Ronningen will be missed not only by her family, but also by her friends and neighbors, who always knew her to be a good neighbor and friend in time of need.

Funeral services were held last Friday at the Wanamingo Free church, of which she had been a faithful member, Rev. C. J. Carlson officiating. The pallbearers were: Ole M. Holman, B. Paulson, Halvor Loken, Ole Sletten, C. Dvergedahl, and J. Engebritson, all of whom, except the latter, served as pallbearers for her late husband. Interment was made in the family plot in the Wanamingo cemetery.
