She was a native of Buncombe County for most of her life until moving to Matthews, NC in 1998. She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Gant and Mattie Humphries Gant and the wife of the late Arthur C. "A.C." Norris who died in 1991. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Hilda Arrington, great-grandson, Jason Norris; six sisters and three brothers.
