Arlene M. Mader, 78, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, after a brief illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Esterdahl Mortuary, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Arlene was born Sept. 30, 1926, in Bellevue, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred Joseph Mueller and Nettie Hazel Heacock Mueller. She married Wilson Delos "Bud" Mader on June 19, 1948, in Bellevue.

Arlene was a secretary working at John Deere, Riekes and Sunset Marina. She attended nurses training at Marycrest College. She was a Girl Scout leader and also was involved with the ELKS, Moline. She was involved with Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island, and St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. She was a devoted grandmother, with many wonderful friends.

Survivors (and spouses) include her husband, Wilson Mader, Rock Island; daughter, Carol (Keith) McChurch, Colona; grandchildren, Tori (Michael) Ybarra, Las Vegas, Nev., Todd McChurch (Wendy Hamilton), Colona; and six brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers and sisters.
