Mr. Christie retired in 1958 after 20 years with the Muncie Police Department, where he served in the traffic division. His last assignment was downtown parking meter enforcement. Before 1938, he worked 12 years for Commodity Sales Company. Born in New Burlington, he lived his entire life in Delaware County. He belonged to Southside Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Christie; one son, Charles; one daughter, Rosemary; one step-son; one step-daughter; one sister, Mrs. Lola Conn; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Parson Mortuary. Burial will be in Tomlinson Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. .Friday.
