Mrs. Viva Christie, wife of Sol W. Christie, died at 9:15 o'clock yesterday morning at her home, 3200 South Madison street, following an extended illness. She had been a resident of Muncie for the past thirty years.
The body was taken to the Garland and Stevens mortuary in Albany, and will be returned to the residence this morning. The Rev. Hershel Allen will conduct funeral services at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Southside Church of God. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Surviving besides the husband are three daughters, Mrs. Lola Conn, Mrs. Ruby Adkins and Mrs. Clara Stanley, of Muncie; two sons, Fred and Delbert Christie, both of Muncie; three sisters, Mrs. Osha Shockley and Mrs. Ada Staker, both of Muncie, and Mrs. Katie Gephart, of New Castle; two brothers, Jobis Lewellen, of New Castle, and Walter Lewellen, of Mooreland; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
