Charles H. BAHNEY, 65, well-known Akron resident, died at 5:30 last evening in the Irene Byron Sanitarium in Fort Wayne. He had been a patient in the sanitarium since November, 1947.
Mr. Bahney was born in Miami county on Aug. 6, 1883, the son of Samuel and Mary YARIAN BAHNEY. All of his life had been spent in Akron with the exception of a few years in Fort Wayne. He was married to Leah PLATT and his death occurred on their 43rd wedding anniversary. Mr. Bahney was a carpenter.
Surviving are his wife; two brothers, Mose and Urban BAHNEY, near Gilead; three sisters, Mrs. Rosetta SHROUT, Akron; Mrs. Verna BEMENDERFER, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Hazel SCHIPPER, Laketon. A son died in infancy and also a brother, Jesse BAHNEY, preceded in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the Moyer-Haupert funeral home. The Rev. Daniel SLAYBAUGH will be in charge and burial will be made in the Akron Odd Fellows cemetery. Friends may call in the Funeral home after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
