Mary Pheobe Riney Ebelhar, 93, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Daviess County to the late Guerdon and Mabel Riney.

Mary Pheobe was a loving and dedicated homemaker and a devoted member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Through the years, she and her husband, Vincent, enjoyed numerous hobbies and interests, including square dancing, traveling extensively and attending plays. Most of all, they were focused on living Christ-centered lives and building strong family relationships.

She also was preceded in death by her daughters, Tina Ebelhar Dixon and Judith Marie Ebelhar; a brother, Hugh Riney; sisters Dorothy Marie Getchell, Maxine Cecil and Edith Riney; and grandchildren Jonathon Hughes, Keith Ebelhar and Ted Ebelhar.

Mary Pheobe is survived by her husband of 73 years, Vincent Joseph Ebelhar; daughters Suzanne (Harold) Roberts of Indianapolis and Lisa (Steve) Hughes of Nashville; sons Joseph V. (Arlene) Ebelhar of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and John D. (Mary Ann) Ebelhar, Philip E. (Cathy) Ebelhar, Danny (Sharon) Ebelhar, Jeff (Margie) Ebelhar and Tony (Julie) Ebelhar, all of Owensboro; son-in-law Brad Dixon of Frackville, Pa.; 30 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers F.G. Riney of West Louisville, Kelly Riney of Louisville, Jim Riney of Orlando, Fla., and Don Riney of Amelia Island, Fla.; a sister, Beverly Riney Cambron of Vero Beach, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Sorgho. The Rev. Mark Buckner will officiate. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday with prayers at 6 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
