Born November 18, 1926 in Owensboro, KY, Kelly was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in St. Matthews, KY. He retired from Texas Gas Transmission Corporation, in Owensboro, after 40 years of dedicated service. Kelly was a veteran in the US Army and served in WWII. Kelly was a devout Catholic, devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and brother. He gave of his time in service to his church, loved spending time with his family, was an avid reader, and enjoyed watching Kentucky basketball.
Kelly was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Mark Riney; his parents Francis Guerdon Riney and Mabel Kelly Riney; brothers FG Riney and Hugh Riney; and his sisters Dorothy Getchell, Mary Phoebe Ebelhar, Maxine Cecil and Edith Riney.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Hughleen (Thompson) Riney; children Mary Kelly (Ted) Sils, Donna Jean (John) Warder, Greg Riney (Lenny – deceased), Anna Marie (Kelly) Richardson, Jeff (Shelly) Riney, Barry (Lisa) Riney, Sharon (Barry) Marcum, David Riney; as well as 8 grandchildren- Ashley (Jason) Tucker, Lauren Riney, Lindsey (Jacob) Ball, Chelsea Riney, Daniel Weber, Natalie Riney, Russell Marcum, and Ellie Marcum.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes, 508 Breckenridge Lane with burial following at Calvary Cemetery.
