Eldest son of Jason "Jase" Leonard and Bianca Etta Smith Doughty. He was born in Catahoula Parish, LA October 21, 1872. He married Bessie Wilson May 1, 1898 in Barker Springs, TX. They were the parents of Rufus M. and William E. Doughty (both died as infants). After Bessie's death, he married Ella C. McAllister on October 5, 1902 in Shirley, TX, Hopkins Co. They were the parents of Basil Aaron (buried in this cemetery), Vena Bianca (also buried in this cemetery) and Hubert Haskell Doughty. William died October 6, 1965 in Hopkins County. As a side note, William's uncle Everett Smith lived in Sulphur Springs, TX too, under the name Ed Smith. Everett "Ed" is also buried in this cemetery. Did William follow his uncle to Texas?
