J. Edward Steward, 55, of Vincennes, a former minister in the Wabash Conference, died February 1. He was born October 11, 1925 in Olney to John and Mary Ann Hughes Steward.

He is survived by his wife Doris Cullison Steward; daughters, LaVonne Smith, Markle; Beverly Denbo, Indianapolis; and Donna Burgess of St. Petersburg, FL; five sisters and seven grandchildren.

After his graduation from Greenville College in 1946. he pastored churches at Rankin, IL, Princeton, IN, Holmes Avenue, Indianapolis, Flat Rock, Pinkstaff, Clay City, St. Francisville and Liberty.

In 1959 he joined the staff of employees at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes where he served as Director of Housekeeping.

Funeral services were conducted February 4 in Vincennes, with burial in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
