Woodrow Steward, 58, of Newton, formerly of Olney, died Friday at 9 a.m. at his home in Newton.
He was born in Olney, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Steward. He was for many years employed in Olney stores. He moved to Newton about 20 years ago and was employed in a Newton super-market.
He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of American Legion Post No. 20 at Newton, the National Campers and Hikers Association and the Central Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton with Rev. Paul Simond in charge. Interment will be at Crest Haven Memorial Cemetery east of Olney.
Friends may call at the Buchanan Funeral Home at Newton after 4 p.m. Sunday.
He is survived by his wife, Emma, a son, Larry of Newton; and two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Marilyn) Rubsam of Newton and Mrs. T. A. (Margaret) Wilson of Davenport, Iowa; two brothers, Edward Steward of Vincennes, and Albert Steward of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four sisters, Misses Adah and Anna Steward, both of Olney, Mrs. Pauline Quillen of Parkersburg and Mrs. Margaret Schonert of Claremont and eight grandchildren.
