OBITUARY
MRS. REBECCA S. BARRETT.
After a long and painful illness, Mrs. Rebecca S. Barrett passed from this life to her home beyond. Deceased was born in Johnsonburg, March 28, 1818, and died of cancer at the residence of her granddaughter, Mrs. Arthur Ward, in Bennington, Feb. 26, 1903. She was eighty-four years and eleven months old. Her maiden name was Miss Rebecca Head, and she was united in marriage to Amasa Barrett, Oct. 16, 1849. Mr. Barrett preceded her in death on September 16, 1880. Those who know her best, say she was a kind neighbor, a faithful companion, and a true friend. To know her was to love her. During the last six years she had resided with Mrs. Arthur Ward, who has spared no pains in caring for her. She was, at the time of her death, a member of the Congregational church of North Java. She leaves to mourn her loss, one adopted daughter, Mrs. Mary Reynolds of North Java, and three brothers, Joseph and Jonathan Head of Johnsonburg and John Head who resides in the West.
