The death of Joseph Head, an aged resident of Johnsonburg, and one of the first settlers of Wyoming County, occurred at his home in Johnsonburg Tuesday, February 27, 1906. Mr. Head was born in Rhode Island in 1816 and was 89 years 4 months and 13 days of age at the time of his death. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson Head, moved to Johnsonburg when he was two years old and he has lived there ever since.
He is survived by four sons, F.L., Henry A. and John J. Head of Johnsonburg and Charles Head of Illinois. The funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the Congregational Church at Johnsonburg at 1 pm, Rev. Holland officiating with burial in Johnsonburg cemetery.
