THE DEATH OF MARTIN W. HOWARD
Martin W. Howard, a pioneer resident of Lauramie township, died at 7:30 o'clock Friday evening at his home in Stockwell. He had been sick for some time and death was caused by a complication of diseases. Mr. Howard was born in Ross county, Ohio, March 16, 1837, and came to Stockwell with his parents when two years old. He had resided there since that time. In 1865 he was united in marriage to Miss Fanny C. Starky of Clinton county, who died in 1895. From this union the following children survive: Mrs. Alta Kennedy, Albert Howard, Mrs. Blanche Clark and Mrs. Worth Arnold. The deceased was again married in 1900 to Mrs. Ellen Allen, who also survives, together with two grandchildren, Miss Bessie Arnold, of Lafayette, and Luther Howard, of Stockwell. Funeral services will be conducted from the Methodist church at Stockwell at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Friends are requested to omit flowers.
