Ad Shinn, age 78, native of East Point, Pope County, died in a Russellville Hospital (St. Mary's) Sunday morning. During his active years, Mr. Shinn was engaged in farming. He was a veteran of the Spanish American War, and was on his way to serve in the Phillipines by way of Alaska when the truce ws declared. He was of the baptist faith. He was a resident of Delaware for the past several years.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Talley Shinn, two sons, Lloyd Shinn, of Dumas, and Spencer Shinn, of Dardanelle, two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Bates, of Dardanelle, and Mrs. Adilee Eubanks, of Lindsey, Calif., one sister, Mrs. W. A. Smith, of Russellville, 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral Services were held at the Slaty Crossing Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Tommy Breashear and Will McGee officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery. Services were in charge of the Cornwell Funeral Service.
