"B.D.R. (Ransom) Shinn died at his home in Russellville February 3 and was laid to rest in the Ball Hill Cemetery near Mill Creek. Mr. Shinn was past seventy years old, had lived in the vicinity of Russellville most of his life and leaves a wide circle of relatives and friends who will be grieved to learn of his death."

BDR married Nancy Smith Oct 25, 1866 in Pope County, Arkansas. Nancy was born Jan 20, 1847 and died Jun 4, 1915. She is the daughter of Frederick Smith and Lisia Alitia Epps.
