Services for Homer Lee Brotherton, 81, Joplin route 3, who died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Medical Center following an illness of several years, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Mason Chapel. The Rev. Thurman D. Kelley will officiate.
Burial will be in Osborne Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Brotherton was born Oct. 3, 1887, in Green County, Missouri, and had spent most of his life in Joplin. He was a retired painter and paper hanger. His wife Hattie, died in December 1969.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Ethel Mae Quillin, Duenweg, Mrs. Betty Niles, 1217 North St., Mrs. Wanda Beck, Joplin, route ?., Mrs. Shirley Sanders, Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Jack Wade, Atlanta, Ga.; a son, Homer Lee Brotherton Jr., Kansas City, Mo.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Betty Meinzer, Fontana, Calif., Mrs. Stella May Porter and Mrs. Wilma Bowers, both of Wichita Kan.; four stepsons, W. L. Sturm and Francis Sturm, both of Granby, Louis Sturm, Pratt, Kan., and Charles Sturm, Winfield, Kan.; a sister, Mrs. Lula Woods, 1405 Missouri Ave.; 41 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at 1217 North St.
