Mrs. Robert Scott passed away last Thursday, at her home in Traer. The end was expected. For two years she had been declining paralysis having hastened her demise. She was one of the old settlers of north Tama as wells as one of our age citizens. She lacked but three months of reaching eighty , having been born August 28, 1825 at Newton Stewart, Wigtownshire, Scotland. She married Robert Scott May 26, 1848 and eight children resulted from the union, four of whom with husband are yet living, namely Thomas and Bell of Traer, Mary Bishop of Atchison, Kansas and William of North Dakota.

The deceased became a Christian early in life in Scotland and for over thirty years has been a member of Tranquillity Presbyterian church. She lived a long and useful life. She reared a family of upright children. She did her duty and has gone to her reward. The funeral was conducted at the home Sunday afternoon by Rev. Currens.
