Alta Francis is the daughter of Francis 'Frank' Marion Furnish and Calla Jane Maxwell. She was born 12 oct 1893 in Pullman, Whitman Co, Washington. Alta had thirteen brothers and sisters; Emma(1881-1881), Otis(1882-1882), Lora(1883), Dora(1885), Lulu(1886), Rita(1888), Lee Roy(1890), Ina(1895), Lloyd(1898), Arthur(1900), William(1903), Lawson(1905), and violet(1907).

She married William Earl Cade, July 5,1916 in Albany, Linn Co, Oregon, the son of Benjamin Hale Cade and Mary Lizabeth James. William always went by Bill. They had four daughters: Dorothy (1917), Grace (1921), Beverly (1930) and Mary (1933).

Alta loved to cook and had a tremendous green thumb. Her yard, wherever she lived, was always filled with all kinds of flowers. And she always had a vegetable garden. She was a kind wonderful person and everyone loved her.

In her younger days she work in the hop fields in Washington or Oregon not sure which.

Bill died in 1962 and was laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas. Alta
died August 1, 1969 at University Convalescent Center in Lubbock, Lubbock Co, Texas. She was laid to rest next to her husband.
