Dorothy was born on June 18,1917 in Alaska to William Earl Cade and Alta Francis Furnish. The Cade's had lived in Oregon before going to Alaska to find work, after Dorothy was born they returned to Oregon.
Dorothy has three sisters: Grace W who married Frank E White, Beverly J C who married Lewis D Hournbuckle and Mary J who married Glenn R Wolf. Her sisters were all born in Albany, Oregon.
Dorothy married Ray Wiley Mudgett September 2, 1938. They had three daughters: Sunny J 7-1939, Dixie M 1-1942, and Terry L 12-1942, all born in Albany, Linn County, Oregon. In 1945 they moved to Texas.
After Ray was killed in a car accident on August 4, 1962,in Oklahoma, she met J E Sharpe and married him August 8, 1966. Dorothy died in Hockley Co. Texas, on September 5, 1986 and is buried next to Ray in Resthaven Memorial in Lubbock Co. Texas.
Dorothy worked at one time for a local cafe and for the Slaton Cleaners. She also work for the school cafeteria. After Ray died, but before she met J, she was going to school to become a nurse. Answering a newspaper ad for a driver to drive a blind man and his mother to Arkansas, was how she met J.
She was loved by everyone who knew her. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren very much and she loved researching the family history.
