Oliver H. Burton was born ca.1831 in Kentucky, the son of Jubal Burton (b.ca.1805 Virginia) and Sarah Traughber (b.ca.1812 in Kentucky). He was living with his parents in Saline County, Illinois, at the time of the 1850 census. In 1880 he was a widower living with his mother in Du Quoin, Illinois.
Possibly he was the Oliver Burton in I.O.O.F. cemetery in Du Quoin.
