ANNE MCMANUS HATLOY

Anne McManus Hatloy, a former Sandy area resident, died Monday, Nov. 1, in Gresham. She was 79.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Gresham Memorial Chapel, 257 S.E. Roberts Ave., Gresham.

Anne was born April 1, 1931, in Frankfort, Kan., to Roy and Maggie (Ashworth) Steenson, the youngest of nine children. The family moved to Oregon in 1936, and Anne attended Boring Grade School and Sandy High School.

On June 26, 1947, she married Darrell McManus. They later divorced.

Anne raised four children and worked for Jantzen Inc. She retired from Boeing in the early 1990s.

In the mid-1990s, Anne married David Hatloy. Following their marriage, they resided in Eau Claire, Wis., until his death in 2000. Anne returned to Oregon to be closer to her family. She also cared for her close friend, Ted McGlothlin, until his death in 2009.

Anne enjoyed golfing, bowling, bingo, cribbage, pinochle, doing crafts with her sisters and spending time with her family. She also loved to cook for her family.

Survivors include her children, Kenn McManus of Troutdale, Darla Melvin of Dufur, Diane Blake of Canyon City and Greg McManus of Sandy; sister, Pauline Nelson of Estacada; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Gresham Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
