Pauline E Porter, 88, entered into eternal rest on April 27, 2009, at the Urbandale Healthcare Center.
Pauline enjoyed filling her days of retirement with hobbies such as sewing, reading and gardening. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends.
Pauline will be greatly missed and always remembered for her caring and loving nature.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Garry. She is survived by sons, Larry (Marge), Richard (Dorotha), Daniel (Carla); daughters, Sue Lyle (Ralph), Kay Stanfill (Mike), 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, April 29, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Westover Funeral Home.
A graveside service celebrating Pauline's life will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday April 30, at Resthaven Cemetery 801 19th St., West Des Moines.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Urbandale Healthcare Center for the love and care they extended to Pauline.
Pauline and her husband, Garry, always felt it important to acknowledge and honor Veterans for their service to our country. Therefore, memorial contributions may be made to: The Iowa Veteran's Home, Marshalltown IA.
