Annis Marie Mealer Claiborne, 65, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at St. Thomas Hospital. Mrs. Claiborne was born in Williamson County, daughter of the late Mirel and Annie Mai Sullivan Mealer, and made her home in Franklin. She was a Grassland cafeteria worker for Williamson County Schools and a member of Leipers Fork Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Douglas Claiborne; grandson, Terry Locklear; and brother, Earl Mealer. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Clifton Claiborne of Leipers Fork; three sons, Clifton (Renee) Claiborne Jr. of Fairview, Tony (Darlene) Claiborne of Franklin and Harry Dean (Melissa) Claiborne of Primm Springs; a brother, Richard Mealer of Austin, Texas; a sister, Lula Holt; special friend, Rosalie Mealer, both of Franklin; and four grandchildren, Joey, Matt, Nicole and Alexandra Claiborne. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday June 7, at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home with Reta Nash officiating. Burial will follow in Leipers Fork Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matt and Joey Claiborne, Joe Holt, James Smith, Barry Moss, Steve Holt, Terry and Ronnie Claiborne, and Randy Mealer. Visitation starts at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
