Mersadis Baxter Long shaw, 79, died Saturday, March 29,2003 at glenvue Nursing Home. she was born in Long County, living in Long county and Glennville most of her life.

She was a seamstress, homemaker and a member of Pigott Branch Church where she was the church pianist for many years and a Sunday School teacher. She was preceded in death by a son, Hoyt Long and husbands, Marvin C. Long and Emmitt Shaw.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Jodonne and Royce Folson of Glennville; sons and daughters-in-law, Cecil and Willene Long of Glennville and Richard and Fredia Long of Perry, daughter-in-law, Cindy Long of Duncan,Ok; sister, Avis Smiley of Jesup; brothers: Myrl and Mitchell Baxter, both of Ludowici; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral: March 31, at Pigott Branch Baptist Church, Rev. Jake Howard and Rev. James Young officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. The body laid in state at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

Honorary pallbearers were nephews and employees of Glenvue Nursing Home. Carter Funeral Home had charge of arrangements
