MRS. EMMA MINGLES
Emma Mary McDonald, daughter of Frank and Ellen McDonald, was born near Williamson, Iowa, May 22, 1891. She spent her entire life in Lucas county.
On February 1, 1911, she was united in marriage to Ben O. Mingles, of Chariton. To this union two children were born, Billy and Betty, now living at home, and one adopted daughter, Mrs. Rosaline Marsh, of Des Moines.
She departed this life June 14, 1942, at her home at the age of 51 years and 22 days.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and three children, six brothers, Wm. and Tom McDonald, of Chariton; Charles McDonald, of Russell; George McDonald, of Lucas; Francis McDonald, of Williamson; Alfred McDonald, of Normal, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Olive Peterson, of Chariton; Mrs. Anna Baylor, of Bloomington, Ill.; and Mrs. Ruth Jures, of Chicago, Ill.; also two grandchildren, Barbara and Connie Marsh, of Des Moines; an uncle, Wm. Myers, of Chariton; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and one sister. She had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and lived a faithful Christian life until death. Her afflictions were great, but she bore them without complaint.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. H. A. Thon, of the Church of the Nazarene, were held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Beardsley funeral home, and burial was in the Chariton cemetery.
