Erma Elizabeth Allen, 80, of Stockton and formerly of Lockeford, died Sep 15 at a Stockton hospital after a brief illness. She was born Erma McKindley on July 5, 1912, in Lockeford.

She attended Lockeford Elementary School and graduated from Lodi High School in 1932. She married Fred Delwyn Allen in 1936, and they resided in the Lockeford area while farming. They also lived in Patterson, Palmdale, Los Molinas, and Sacramento. Mr. Allen died in 1984.

She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. Her pastimes were lapidary work, camping, fishing, crocheting, and her family.

Mrs. Allen was also preceded in death by a sister, Edna Bear, and a brother Robert McKindley.

She is survived by three sons, Scott Allen of South San Francisco, Forrest Allen of Citrus Heights, and Mark Allen of Stockton; six brothers, Mahlon McKindley, Cecil McKindley, and Ray McKindley all of Stockton; John McKindley of Lodi, Lester McKindley of Sly Park and Vince McKindley of Santa Clara; two sisters Ruth Wageman of Galt and Marilyn Thompson of Acampo; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday at Lodi Funeral Home. Committal is at Harmony Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home.
